This morning was hot and sunny. 32 with a UV index of 8. The reptiles loved it. Here are the species that we saw in our yard this morning.
The green vine snake was about 90cm long. It's venom is strong enough to quickly disable frogs, small lizards, and insects, but not so strong as to be dangerous to humans. We watched the vine snake eat the pygmy frog. We have also concluded that the yellow pygmy frog is likely the same species of yellow frog that we struggled to identify earlier in the month.
We observed the yellow headed gecko on a stump of a log next to casa mango (the other little house in our yard). We watched both the snake and the gecko for half an hour, took lots of pictures, and then spent time on the computer trying to identify the reptiles and edit our pictures. It was like a mini-safari in our back yard.
