Robert Munsch was born on June 11, 1945 in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania.
He studied for 7 years to become a Jesuit priest, but after working at an orphanage, he decided he liked kids better so he got a master's degree in child studies. In 1975, at age 30, Robert Munsch moved to Guelph, Ontario, Canada. He worked at a preschool, taught at the University of Guelph, and began to publish children's books. Robert Munsch has published more than 50 books. He has hundreds of unpublished books and stories. In 1999, he became a member of the Order of Canada. His most loved book is Love you Forever. It was the number one top selling Canadian book for 10 years. Robert Munsch adopted 3 children; their names are Julie,Andrew and Tyya. Robert Munsch struggles with mental health and addictions. In 2008,he had a stroke that caused some memory lost. He continues to publish two previously-written books every year.
