During our time at Playas del Coco I had my birthday party. For my birthday adventure, we went to Hacienda Guachipelin. The one day adventure pass included 4 activities: ziplining, horseback riding, tubing on a river plus mud baths and thermal pools heated by a volcano. I went with my family and it was special because Grandpa could come too.
Ziplining was the first activity of the day. The zipline course was unique because it went through a narrow canyon over top of a river. The zipline course also included the chance to go rock climbing and rappelling on the canyon walls. To end it off there was a thrilling Tarzan swing across the canyon to the final platform.
After ziplining, we went on a horseback ride. My horse's name was Pablo. He was slow and grumpy but he got me down to the river where we started our next adventure.
The third activity in our adventure packed day was tubing on a wild river. I have been tubing at a water slide park, on a lazy river, and behind a boat, but this was different. We got soaked on the class III rapids of rio Guachipelin. There were small drop offs, boulders, narrow chutes and miniature waterfalls. You had to hold on tight or you'd fall out. It was like white water rafting but you didn't have a paddle. You spun around and played bumper boats with the other tubes on the adventure.
We warmed up with a tasty lunch and a long soak in the volcano heated thermal pools.
