A day in Vancouver...Writer to be determined...

Health class at Lynn Canyon...that can save your life/health or the life of your friend - by Exotic Chicken

(Writing to come...wait for it - it's going to be good!)

June 19th...by Twy's Twavels - in cooperation with Zipline

June 19th...20 years later and we're still together and laughing a lot of the days.

A big part of our return to the West was because it was our destination on our honeymoon.
I was teary-eyed as we left the Island on the 17th - we had planned to come here since our honeymoon.
We gave each other a high-five - we accomplished our goal!

The beauty and ruggedness of the coast - kind of similar to marriage...

Arden tells me we swam under these falls...I can't honestly remember.
Guess that's a good reason to stay together; we can't remember all the details by ourselves.  It takes two to remember the adventure...

Pie irons in the campfire...yum!

Buchart gardens was one of the places we visited 20 years ago.
Great memories - beautiful place.
We now have gardens at home that have many of the same types of flowers - thankful!

We camped at Goldstream 20 years ago...
so even though there was no water, electric or sewer - we stayed here again.
It was relaxing to do 'real camping' again.

A family tree...biked to Stanley park and saw the totem poles.
Arden is now inspired to make a small one to celebrate our home.
I'm excited to see how it turns out.

My goal when we return is to make a quilt for our bed...
that's my art form to work on.

PEI in VCR...featuring Spot(dot)It - but written by Twy's Twavels

This Girl loves all things green, growing and creative - thus, we found a few fun activities to celebrate her 8th year.

She had to figure out the clues - starting with a word scramble on June 14th to figure out where we were going the next day...

First surprise - was a trip to Buchart gardens on June 15th.  There was a special event on this day to celebrate gardening across Canada where 12 garden gnomes were hiding throughout the gardens...great fun!

This is serious searching business...

Found one!

And another - this one is near the totem pole...

Some were in very tricky spots...

In the Japanese garden...

Japanese blue poppies around this gnome...

Hiding in the fushia plants...

In the big garden...waaaay over there...

On June 16th, her brother made a treasure hunt so that she could find the lighthouse to paint...it's all part of the process...

(June 17th was Father's day...we took the ferry from Vancouver Island to Vancouver city - which isn't on Vancouver island...isn't that silly?  We got to visit with Arden's uncle, aunt and cousins near Vancouver.)

Actual birthday day on June 18th...camping in Vancouver...

Opening the gifts...

Fairy garden supplies...the biggest things that made her smile - a hot glue gun!  She can't wait to use it for all her crafting/art ideas...

The cake...but mostly the scene was important to her.

She loved it...which was the whole point (making a cake without an oven isn't an easy task - let's just say it was a lava cake and call it good.  I think I may have said it was more of an anvil cake.  Light and fluffy, it was not!).

And a few photos of the inspiration behind the whole PEI theme...
(the remaining photos were taken last summer in beautiful PEI).
