West coast beauty...by Twy's Twavels

Driving along the west coast was one part of the trip that I was dreaming about.  We went from California all the way up to Victoria.  Arden had done research and found out that we would be in full rhododendron flowering for the Oregon and Washington part of the drive.  Truly...pictures aren't enough.
A mysterious tree full of moss and hanging branches.
The beauty of the heavy clouded skies.
We saw these signs as we went up and down the coastal hills...entering, exiting, entering, exiting...thankfully, didn't experience a tsunami this time around.
The wind and power of waves.
 Mist from the waves crashing.
 The steep coasts.
Incredible flowers blooming in the wind of the beach.
Tiny flowers in the redwood forest.
 Massive ferns and flowers.
Rays of light in the redwood forest...and a Girl who thinks that there just might be a fairy flying somewhere in the mysterious location.
Fun to be fairy-size in this massive tree garden
...imaginations have been sparked.
 Blooming flowers along the drive.
 Rhododendrons...so many colours.
Reds, pinks, purples, whites...
A view from above...
 A moment together...
Ferry ride from Anacortes to Sidney - heading back to Canada.
Succulents along the bike path in Vancouver Island.
 Beautiful coastal flowers.
Playing on the shores - Weir's beach, near our campsite.
My Kids getting stuck in the sand for fun.
Our hike along the coast with beautiful views of mountains and sea
...sea otters played games while we watched.
 Poppies blooming along the walk...
 Playing west coast beach baseball...
- a big ocean, drift wood sticks and a million smooth pebbles
 are all that's needed.
We all laid down on the warm rocks to relax.
An arbutus tree...recently read a story that described them.
Interesting to see them here.
